ABOUT ME

Chris Atwood is a veteran DJ of Boston-area radio stations and has been spinning classic alternative since his college radio DJ days back in the mid- to late-1980s.

 

In addition to his weekly show on Boston's 95.9 WATD-FM, LA's IndieXFM and Canada's Bombshell Radio began airing “The Alternative with Chris Atwood” in late 2020.

 

Chris features 70s Punk, 80s New Wave, and 90s Shoegaze–along with interviews from the bands who made the music such as Gene Loves Jezebel, Peter Hook, The Alarm, A Flock of Seagulls, the Throwing Muses, and The Pixies, to name a few.

If there’s an 80s alternative music festival, you’ll find Chris there interviewing the bands and sometimes hosting the festivals.

He hopes to someday be on SiriusXM's 1st Wave and spinning classic 80s alternative with the other 1st Wave DJs.
